The New Baby

It seems every one we know is having babies now, I guess we're at that age finally. Since we had our first one young it's not really anything new to us but it is still exciting. Even more interesting is that most of them are having girls or twins. I couldn't imagine having twins especially as my first child. Could you imagine having to do everything for the first time with two of them? Talk about craziness. LOL DH's friend was handing out Backwoods cigars when his kids were born not long ago. We never did that but then again, we don't smoke cigars. If you just had twins I think you might need more than a cigar, maybe like a case of wine. LOL!

Diet Aid

There are a lot of things out now that promote colon cleansing as an aid to weight loss. I'm not sure really just how that works and it sounds kind of weird if you ask me. LOL I haven't read up on it to see what all the hype is about but some colon cleanse product reviews that I've come across have said that they really do help. I'm not sure if this is something for me or not but I do know that I don't move nearly enough to lose anything right now. I can't wait for summer so we can get outside and be more active.

Wrinkle Free

I caught a lecture on PBS about skin health and this woman said that even the best wrinkle cream won't do anything for your skin. I'm not sure I really believe that. Creams may not erase lines but I think they can probably help in making you appear differently. Eating healthy foods will certainly change your skin as you free yourself of artificial ingredients too. There are a lot of people that say once they've switched over to a vegetarian or vegan diet their skin had dramatically changed. I'm thinking of going this route since I must have some of the worst skin ever but at the same time I'll probably still be trying out all the different products out there too. lol

Artificial Growth

Oprah recently had a show where they talked about what beauty meant to people around the world. It was especially interesting to see what they're doing in China. I've always known Asians to be really into fashion and make-up but it was pretty incredible to see that some are going to drastic measures to "grow". I didn't know that height pretty much determines your future over there and that employers can require people be of certain heights. So there is a popular surgery using a screwed in frame and sawing the bones apart in order to make you taller. That's such a drastic measure compared to using hgh supplements or shots like we would here.

Massive Pain

I've been waking up at all hours in agony since I started the room project. It REALLY sucks not sleeping well and I'm tired all the time. This is way worse than just having insomnia to begin with. It's nice to finally be going to bed at a decent hour but by the time I give up trying to stay asleep it's around 7 or 8am and I've already woken up more than that one time. I can't wait to hurry up and get this whole thing done so I can try to get back to normal!

Healthy Advertising

There are tons of commercials asking if you need to get rid of belly fat and describe how their product works. I find it kind of interesting because they don't mention that diet and exercise is an integral part of being healthy like commercials used to. Even Jillian Michaels has her cleanse and burn products but at least she talks about using it with a healthy plan. It's not impossible to get thin or lose weight but you do have to work for it even if it's just a little but pills can definitely increase your energy level.

Business Building

I know it saves companies a lot of money by having websites instead of spending on catalog printing but personally I still really like having catalogs. I've been known to save a bunch of them especially clothes and stuff so I have something to refer to. Even though I rarely turn off my computer, some times it's frustrating trying to look for things online and you can't see them closely enough. I like the pictures in print that shows what it may look like on a model or have a different angle. It's always likely that the colors are off too. Call me old fashioned but I still love page turning and hope that catalogs won't totally disappear.

Work Warning

I worry about some of the guys that I knew growing up because they are in construction and there's always commercials about Mesothelioma. I'm not sure exactly what they do but I'm sure they're exposed to asbestos at some point and often. It seems like more and more people must be finding out that they have this cancer because the commercials are growing in frequency. I really hope that nothing happens to them, it would really be a shame if they found out they hav it when they're like 50.

Girly "Men"

DS had his friend spend the night and I had to laugh at them. When we had dinner the only napkins we had were wedding napkins from a recent event and being the teenage boys they were they almost wouldn't use them. I really wanted to get rid of them so I made them use them instead of paper towels but the whole thing (including the looks on their faces) was pretty funny. Needless to say neither one of them has had a girlfriend yet and it doesn't look like it will happen in the near future. LOL

Details

I'm still trying to get my business underway but I'm not sure I can really make anything out of it for a while, or at least until I finish this room and heal for a while. Every now and then I find myself thinking of tiny details that may help me stand out. I was thinking that when I take pictures or my products I could dress up a cardboard display and end up with something more professional than some of the backdrops I've seen. Of course that means I also need a new camera since mine died on me last year. *sigh* So much to do!

The Month Long Project

I thought it would only be a couple of weeks maximum once I started painting and stuff and now I'm thinking it's going to take WAY longer. I'm doing the whole thing alone so DD doesn't have a fit that she can't help and the pain I'm in is too much to handle. I've never woken up so many times during the night out of pain in my life. I wish I had insurance so I could at least get something to help with it.

So far it's looking really good though and I'm excited to get started on the rest of the room. The only problem is that there's SO much I need to clean first that I think that may take another week in itself! I wish I could have hired someone to do this for me so I could have it done already and just enjoy my new space.
