Where to Hide?!

One thing I haven't been able to get used to living in Kansas yet is the fear of tornadoes. One would think that having come from earthquake country I would be okay, but I'm really not. Every time the wind picks up I'm not sure what's going to happen. I think one of the biggest reasons I don't feel secure is that we don't have a basement. We can still run back to the building next door as one of our storm shelters but I'm not very comfortable there because of someone who lives there. As far as I know, there hasn't been a tornado through here in forever, if ever, but it still worries me.
